Three days of fighting culminated in another title in the career of João Gabriel Rocha, the Soul Fighters black-belt who topped the under-110kg podium at Abu Dhabi World Pro 2019. In the final duel for the gold, João faced local star Yahya Al Hammadi, but the encounter didn’t last long.
After pulling and hook-sweeping — a move he used in most of his fights in the UAE capital — João came up and took Yahya down from the back, placing the hooks and working until finishing with a bow-and-arrow choke.
