Late last night GRACIEMAG.com received an email from Ronaldo Jacaré. On August 21 the black belt will face Tim Kennedy to fight for the Strikeforce middleweight title belt, a title left vacant with Jake Shields’s exit from the promotion.

“This opportunity came at the right time. I fought hard for this, had good fights at Strikeforce and earned a title shot,” he says.

Tim Kennedy has 12 wins and two losses on his record. He’s a fighter who knows how to get the submission (6 times) and the knockout (5).

“I hope he’ll be really strong and ready for this fight. In my assessment of him, he has great gas and good wrestling,” wagers Jacaré.

His prep-work will be done in Brazil alongside training partner Rafael Feijão, who fights Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal on the same night, also in a title fight, but for the light heavyweight belt. In order to get another chance to do his traditional post-win gator-crawl, Jacaré plans to work on and use his primary skill.

“As with my last fights, I’m going to do all my training in Brazil, at XGYM team. I’m going to try and use what I do best, which is my Jiu-Jitsu, which will be my cash cow in this fight,” he says in closing.
