Erberth Santos and Felipe Preguiça trade barbs before BJJ Stars: ‘You blocked me on Instagram!’

With three weeks to go until BJJ Stars, the event organized by black-belt Fepa Lopes that promises to rock São Paulo’s Hebraica Club, two of the big BJJ stars in the line-up have been training hard.

Erberth Santos and Felipe “Preguiça” Pena will be doing an explosive rematch, and each is intent on walking away with his hand raised. Erberth is coming off a convincing victory in Abu Dhabi on January 11th, when he beat a field of athletes in the 110kg division.

In a recent post on social media, he seemed confident: “I know well what I’m going there to do.” But the black-belt from the state of Roraima also has some choice words about his rival. Beside a picture by the Graciemag team where he appears stretching Felipe Pena’s arm during their memorable battle at the 2016 Euros (which Felipe came back to win), Erberth wrote:

“You know the size of the problem you have on February 23, see you at BJJ Stars, buddy! Time has passed, don’t forget it and I’m hungry (you blocked me on Instagram to avoid getting frustrated right)!”

Preguiça, who was seen training at his Belo Horizonte school with Marcus Buchecha and Leandro Lo (both also slated to fight in the event), shot back. “He’s been blocked on my Instagram for years,” he told Graciemag, adding with a laugh: “He doesn’t like me and I don’t like the guy. What would I let him see my posts for?”
