Thursday was a big day of top-flight MMA in the Northeast Brazilian city of Fortaleza.

There was no lack of standouts at Warrior Fight, with former UFC and Pride FC fighter Marcus Aurelio making his debut in the land of his birth in style.

The Jiu-Jitsu black belt ground and pounded the USA’s Garrett Gross until he gave up his back. From there, the Brazilian went for the fight-ending reverse armbar.

In the other fights on the card, Jerry Tolentino did well in the standup department and neutralized black belt Andre Gigueto’s takedown attempts throughout the three rounds. Thus the Peruvian won th fight via split decision.

The powerful Igor Negao started out well against the USA’s Brian Green, raining down blows through the guard. But the visitor managed a sterling reversal, dropped some fists and sunk a guillotine choke for the wind.

Now, Leandro Naja tapped out Uruaguay’s El Toro with is favorite weapon–the triangle. And in the female bout, Viviane Sucuri outpointed Marilia Fanta via unanimous decision.
