Christmas hasn’t even come yet and the UFC’s already giving its stars their presents. Two wished-for fights were granted this week: Georges St-Pierre will toe the line against Nick Diaz, and Rory MacDonald will get the rematch with Carlos Condit, the only guy to have beaten him in his 15-fight career, he so craved.

Having successfully defended his title from Carlos Condit at UFC 154, Georges St-Pierre is on course to fight Nick Diaz at UFC 158 in Montreal, in March 2013. According to MMAFighting.com, UFC president Dana White offered the fight to the two of them. All that’s missing are signed bout agreements.

Nick Diaz, who before losing to Carlos Condit at UFC 143 had gone since 2008 without a single defeat, is coming off a suspension for testing positive for marijuana metabolites. St-Pierre has been successful in defending his welterweight belt ever since 2008, when he won it back from Matt Serra in their rematch at UFC 83.

Another wish the UFC president has granted is the rematch between Rory MacDonald and Carlos Condit, which is also targeted for UFC 158 in Canada. The youthful MacDonald requested the former interim champion after beating B.J. Penn at UFC on Fox 5 last Saturday.

“There’s a guy who humiliated me a few years ago and I want my revenge,” said MacDonald at the UFC on Fox 5 post-fight press conference.

No bout agreements have been signed for the pending match-ups, but GRACIEMAG.com will update as more information becomes available.
