Jordan wants to make some noise at the Worlds

After teaching a seminar in Syria, where he intends to further his efforts in the coming months, Jordanian black belt Zaid Mirza took off for the United States this Monday with part of his team. Final destination: The Jiu-Jitsu World Championship in California.

According to the black belt, Jordan’s team is better prepared than ever. He believes there will be medals won for the country.

“Our athletes are more mature now in regards to competition. We had excellent results at the European and World pro. We’re very confident.”

Jordan, along with the United Arab Emirates, has shown itself to be competitive in the international scene, mainly in the lower belt groups. Such success has catapulted Jiu-Jitsu into the public eye in the Middle East and the region promises to launch thousands of savvy gentle art practitioners in the years to come.
