Isaque Bahiense of Alliance has some extra motivation for Copa Podio’s Lightweight GP, set to take place this Saturday in Sao Paulo.

The 21-year-old wants to make history and seize the throne left empty by Leandro Lo, the last lightweight champion. Isaque is in the yellow group alongside Celso Venícius, Delson Pé de Chumbo, Wellington Alemão and Caio Almeida.

But how does one train to take on so many different styles? Isaque explains:

“The training doesn’t change much. I believe a fighter needs to train everything, without an ego; that’s the only way to test ourselves in every way. Thus it will be hard to be surprised. I see myself becoming champion; I cannot think of anything else. I’m living a very good phase, and that will be reflected on Saturday.”
