Hulk, Keennan, Luan Carvalho and Henrique Lima on the absolute podium.

After the Worlds in California, the IBJJF kicked off its tour of national championships around the world, and the latest one began this Friday in Tokyo. The 2018 Asian Nationals is gathering strong fighters from Asia, Brazil, the U.S. and more.

Lucas Hulk and Keenan Cornelius are among the standouts so far. After taking down the heavyweight and ultra-heavyweight divisions respectively, the duo fought in the absolute division and made their way to the final, closing it out for Atos.

Cláudia do Val again nabbed double gold, meaning she’s still going strong in her campaign for first place in the 2018/19 season rankings. Luan Carvalho of Nova União shone in the middleweight division, in whose final he beat Thomas Mietz (Carpe Diem).
