Miyao brings takes home another arm and another gold medal in IBJJF opens.
At the New York Open, held early this month, top-five IBJJF male João Miyao achieved a swift submission to climb to the top of the podium of the light featherweight division.
He faced Tadashi Takashima and dictated the pace. After trying for the back with the berimbolo, Miyao wound up on top. From there he worked to mount and transitioned into the winning armbar. You can watch it all unfold in this video.

O Carlos Gracie Jr (Presidente da CBJJ) tinha um plano de fazer um campeonato fora do Brasil, pois sentia que o Jiu-Jitsu precisava crescer e isso só aconteceria com um torneio nos Estados Unidos. A ideia era fazer uma grande disputa Brasil x EUA, estilo Brasileiro de Equipes. O primeiro desafio foi conseguir vistos para todos os atletas, mais de 40."
