What, in your view, isJiu-Jitsu black belt Ronaldo “Jacaré” Souza’s greatest quality as a fighter?

His enviable physical prowess?

His innate skill and adeptness at learning?

His cool-headedness and courage?

His well-rounded and mature game, like few Jiu-Jitsu world champions have displayed to this day?

Yes, all that and one more: his extreme skillfulness at combining moves, whether strikes while standing or Jiu-Jitsu holds on the ground.

First, watch the combination of strikes Jacaré threw in just 41 seconds in his win over Derek Brunson in the second-to-last fight of yesterday’s Strikeforce event. Don’t you have to agree with Wanderlei Silva, who the other day tweeted, “Ronaldo Jacaré joining the UFC is long overdue”?

Dangerous on his feet, Jacaré also has a lot to teach on the ground. At the 2005 Budo Challenge championship held in the USA, Jaca took on judoka Karl Amoussou and didn’t give him a second’s worth of comfort. Take special note of the combination he strung together at the end of the second round: mount, armbar, omoplata and triangle.

What do you say, agree with Wand that Jacaré’s place is the UFC? Let us know what you think below.
