Gianni Grippo attacks from the back.
Last Saturday was a day of triumph for American black-belt Gianni Grippo of Alliance. A lightweight, Grippo fought in the IBJJF’s Boston Open and won double gold.
In his weight division, after getting past three opponents, he was faced with Felipe Simplicio (Soul Fighters) in the final. The fight, which you can see in the following video, was decided after a nice spin from the guard to the back that ended in a choke.
Later, in the absolute final, Grippo won again, this time against Diogo Moreno (Soul Fighters).

Desde que Tyson surgiu como um estrondoso meteoro nos ringues, nos anos 1980, os fãs de Jiu-Jitsu bombardeavam Rickson com perguntas sobre como faria para subjugá-lo numa eventual disputa. Quando ambos estavam no auge, o Gracie chegou, via emissoras e revistas americanas, a se oferecer para dividir o ringue com Tyson:
“Espero que Mike Tyson aceite meu desafio. Tenho meios de enfrentá-lo e até de fazê-lo jogar a toalha. Ele é especialista em dar socos, mas eu sei bem mais do que isso.”
