A trip to Sydney, Australia gave 4th degree black belt Steve Maxwell a chance to spread his knowledge about Jiu-Jitsu, Wrestling, and exercises for longevity in martial arts.

Maxwell is the father of young black belt prodigy Zak Maxwell and one of the top trainers in the USA even owning the title of first kettlebell trainer in the states. A black belt under Relson Gracie, he and his son represent the Gracie Humaita team. In March, Maxwell flew south to Sydney and visited the Jiu-Jitsu Kingdom academy. Head coach Felipe Grez was honored to have the well-rounded expert teach classes and finish with a seminar on March 16.

He taught both Jiu-Jitus self defense classes as well as wrestling classes at the academy for several weeks before the seminar.  He placed tremendous importance on maintaining the effectiveness of Jiu-Jitsu as the ultimate art of self defense as taught by Helio Gracie and his sons.

In addition to these classes he taught a host of private lessons on various topics ranging from Jiu-Jitsu, Strength & Conditioning, Wrestling and his specialty: “Joint Mobility” and “Mobility Conditioning.” It is no wonder that Zak Maxwell has become such a successful Jiu-Jitsu athlete with Steve Maxwell as his father!

Using “Joint Mobility” and “Mobility Conditioning” exercises alone, Steve was able to correct and fix several athletes postural imbalances and even fix some plaguing injuries with no stress to the body. Felipe Grez stated: ”My neck feels better after one session than it has in the last 3 years” and has incorporated “Joint Mobility” and “Mobility Conditioning” exercises both into his own daily routine and into the class warm ups!

If you want to increase your longevity in the sport and restore your body’s ability to move with ease and fluidity you can contact Steve Maxwell at www.maxwellsc.com.
