Rodolfo Vieira didn’t exempt himself from commenting on his quarterfinals loss to Marcus Vinicius “Bochecha” at the 2012 World Championship. Opening his heart, he spoke to GRACIEMAG.com reporter Ivan Trindade.

“I’m sadder about not having fought like I usually do than the fact that I lost. The truth is that I felt a bit weak during the match and wore out in the end. When he took me down, I thought I was still ahead on the scoreboard or at least tied. When he got hold of his arm I didn’t even worry about sweeping, since it was all the way out, but I didn’t have the strength to get him to tap,” he said.

“My master Julio Cesar scolded me about having gone for the finish and not for the points. I was worried I wouldn’t make weight, so I spent the last three days only eating salad. Now I just have to cool my head off and go for gold at weight,” he said in closing.
