As we all know, sharks sometimes attack humans. This is mostly because the animal mistakes people for food. 14-year-old Joshua Watson can tell you what it’s like to be mistaken for a meal.

Watson was attacked by a shark off the South Carolina shoreline recently when a fish got ahold of his ankle. Keeping calm from his martial arts training, Watson struck the shark in the nose with a quick punch. Similar to when an opponent attempts a single-leg takedown (but with more teeth), the teenager implemented his strikes on the ideal pressure point, negating any further advances from the shark.
