José Aldo may go back to BJJ competitions if he retires from MMA

Interim featherweight UFC champion José Aldo is in Las Vegas and will meet with the organization’s leadership this Wednesday to decide his future in MMA. In he does retire, Aldo thinks of going back to fighting in BJJ tournaments.

“I came from BJJ,” Aldo told Brazilian cable channel SporTV. “If I can be living that again tomorrow, competing, day to day, to me it will be good. But I’ll take one step at a time. First I’ll sit down with them and make a decision.”

José Aldo is a black-belt under André Pederneiras who, before moving to MMA, had success in competitive BJJ, including a brown belt World Cup title and wins over the likes of four-time world champion Rubens Charles “Cobrinha.”
