Jon Jones is once again in trouble with the law.

The former UFC light-heavyweight champion turned himself in to the Albuquerque PD after a arrest warranty was issued for probation violation.

The fighter was under probation for the hit-and-run incident on April 2015.

A judge considered Jones citation on March 24 for allegedly engaging in drag racing in the streets of Albuquerque.

With the latest developments, the future of Cormier vs. Jones 2, scheduled April 23, on UFC 197, is uncertain.

The UFC released the following statement on the matter:

UFC is aware that Jon Jones turned himself into the Albuquerque Police Department this morning for a potential probation violation stemming from a traffic stop last week.

UFC has been in touch with Jones’ legal team and will have no further comment until the organization has had appropriate time to gather necessary information.

Jones’ legal team also released a statement:

“Jon and his team are taking this very seriously and we will let the legal process play out,” Denise White, the CEO of EAG, told MMAWeekly.com. “We are confident he will be released once he has an opportunity to explain to the judge the facts in this case.”

Jones should appear in front of a judge in the following days.
