After some back-and-forth taunting online, Polaris Professional Jiu-Jitsu has announced that Gilbert “Durinho” Burns and Garry “The Lion Killer” Tonon will be pitted against each other on October 29 when the fourth edition of the event is held in Poole, England.
A world BJJ champion and UFC fighter, Durinho had shown interest in squaring off against Tonon, a black-belt under Tom DeBlass and Ricardo Almeida who’s been making noise in no-gi competitions. Their relative weight was an issue at first and held back the announcement. But now Durinho has officially accepted the challenge.
