When Lyoto Machida held the UFC light heavyweight belt and was undefeated in his 16 MMA fights, the fight fans were asking for was a showdown with Anderson Silva, the untouchable champion of the middleweight division.
The firm rejection from the teammates managed by Jorge Guimarães and Ed Soares infuriated a number of those wanting to see it happen, even UFC president Dana White.
Anderson is still the champ, while Lyoto is training hard to recover his throne. But there are still many out there who want to see the two go at it.
