On July 23, Jiu-Jitsu black belt David Vanbuskirk was working as a Metro Police officer in Las Vegas, Nevada when a rescue mission turned fatal. While rescuing a disoriented hiker an hour outside of the city center, David’s harness failed to secure him properly and he fell to his death. He trained Jiu-Jitsu for more than ten years and received his black belt from Sergio Penha.

In honor of the dedicated Jiu-Jitsu black belt and to support his family, a seminar is scheduled with Las Vegas’ finest. The date is set for August 9 from 6-9 p.m. with a cost of $50 each, cash only, to go straight to the family. The location for the event is Xtreme Couture MMA: 4055 West Sunset Road, Las Vegas, NV 89118.

Among the teachers at the seminar is GMA member Robert Drysdale who will offer his techniques for this great cause.

If you are nearby or will be in town for the IBJJF Vegas Open, attend the seminar for great knowledge, a good cause for support of a fallen officer and member of our BJJ community.
