Buchecha is the leader of the adult male black belt ranking

Three-time black belt open class world champion Marcus Buchecha is back on the mats.

After ten months rehabilitating from a torn knee ligament and surgery, the Brazilian ultra-heavy competitor is ready to return to competition.

Buchecha spent the recent months in Brazil doing physiotherapy and strengthening his body to compete at the highest level once again: “The forced vacations are over. I’ve been away for ten months and came back to Jiu-Jitsu little by little to acquire confidence. It was a pretty serious injury, but now I am confident again and full of desire to compete,” said Buchecha in a press release.

The champion has two competitions in mind for his return: the 2016 WPJJC and the 2016 Worlds. then, he’ll continue his transition to MMA. “I have already started to prepare in Brazil and very soon I will return to California to complete my camp under Leo Vieira, at Checkmat HQ. Then, it’s off to Abu Dhabi to defend my titles.”

Regarding another news that broke this week, Buchecha’s press team confirmed GRACIEMAG.com that he is in talks with Metamoris for a rematch against Roger Gracie, but nothing was signed yet. According to his press team, Buchecha wants the match up, but has not reached an agreement with the event to make the fight happen.

Metamoris announced Roger vs. Buchecha as the main event of Metamoris 7, to be held in LA, on July 17.
