The inaugural Renzo Gracie No-Gi Open went off in grand style last Saturday at the MMA World Expo in New York.
Three thousand dollars were earmarked for the winner of the principal division, the brown-and-black belt absolute. And the one who left all the richer was Roberto Gordo black belt Antonio Braga Neto.
“He won the heavyweight and absolute divisions,” recounts Igor Gracie, celebrating the event’s success.
“In all there were 300 athletes signed up, a good result seeing as it’s the first Renzo No-Gi championship,” he adds.
