Alexander Gustafsson busts open his head, Fuel TV 9 b0ut in danger?

Alexander Gustafsson is scheduled to fight Gegard Mousasi this Saturday at UFC on Fuel TV 9 in Stockholm, Sweden. There’s only one problem: he sustained a huge gash over his head during training and might not be medically cleared by the Swedish MMA Federation.

Our buddies at MMANytt.com have the lowdown (with the help of Google Translate). Take it away, Swedish friends:

“Alexander has signed a covenant doctor who says that the wound over the eye will take a number of weeks before it healed,” says SMMAF: President George Sallfeldt to MMAnytt . “This covenant (doctor has) seen the damage live, while another two covenants doctor says the same thing after examining photos of the damage. Our doctors have looked at this injury, and it is very difficult to see that this will be medically approved on Friday.”

Well, that sucks. We’ve already gone two weeks with no UFC fights, and the next main event is potentially getting called off?! Hold your horses, said UFC boss Dana White.

In a report by MMAFighting.com, White told the website that the fight is still on. Once that news got out, we at GracieMag.com called our sources and tried to get some clarity on our own.

“We have not been told that is is called off and we are still traveling to Sweden,” Mousasi’s manager, Nima Safapour, said on Monday.

Nothing like a little uncertainty to kick off fight week, huh fight fans? Woo!

Ronda Rousey goes on Jim Rome Show for no reason other than we all love watching Ronda Rousey

Based on scientific data that we can’t cite because we really don’t have any scientific data (Happy April Fools), the Internet loves Ronda Rousey.

The “baddest woman on the planet” appeared on the season premiere of the Jim Rome show and talked about a bunch of stuff. The show is an hour long, but GracieMag.com did the hard work of skimming through the video to pinpoint when Rousey makes her appearance. Go to the 15:47 mark of the video. You’re welcome.
