It was a sweep for a sweep but Paulo Miyao was able to win a split referee decision over Leo Saggioro in the featherweight final in Brazil over the weekend at the 2014 IBJJF Rio BJJ Pro.
The match wasn’t as exciting as most matches but if you watch in 2x the speed you’ll be able to highlight the major moves more easily. Paulo earns a sweep when he gets Leo to his butt and tries to take the back. While he doesn’t secure the back, he gets on top before Leo moves into deep half and earns a counter sweep.
