Packed with great match-ups, UFC 239, held in Las Vegas last weekend, had some good moments.
As well as Jon Jones’s win over Thiago Marreta in the main event, we saw Amanda Nunes launch a precise attack on Holly Holm in the co-main event, for the bantamweight crown.
After studying Holm in the striking portion of the fight, Nunes found space to release the kick that allowed her to retain one of two UFC belts she owns.
Also on the main card, a five-second bout made UFC history. In a duel fraught with rivalry, Jorge Masvidal and Ben Askren entered the Octagon with the expectation of a balanced fight. But we got something else entirely.
With a sudden run-up and a flying knee, Masvidal knocked out Askren in spectacular fashion, breaking the record for fastest knockout in UFC history.
