Two Strikeforce titles were decided this Saturday in Miami, Florida. In the evening’s main fight, Nick Diaz overwhelmed Marius Zaromskis and secured the vacant welterweight title for himself. Cris Cyborg successfully defended her female title for the first time, faring well against Marloes Coenen.

Although he comes from a Jiu-Jitsu background training under Cesar Gracie, Diaz’s victory came by way of TKO before the opening round was over. Cyborg had to work a little harder. Her triumph, the ninth in a row, came by way of technical knockout in the third stanza.

In another highly-anticipated fight, Robbie Lawler surprised and defeated Melvin Manhoef quickly. Known for his knockouts, having thus achieved 23 of his 24 victories, this time Manhoef had a taste of his own medicine. He was knocked out in the first round.
