Primero is a first class academy developing first class students. Our goal is to ensure that our students learn effective and proven self defense skills, taught by qualified instructors, in a safe and positive environment.

Primero was Tucson’s First Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy with Two Senior Black Belt Instructors. Primero also offers Wrestling and is a proud member of USA Wrestling. Our method of instruction provides a common sense approach to self defense while providing a fun, safe and invigorating environment. Primero integrates beginners into ongoing classes with advanced students. Newcomers learn not only from the instructor, but also from more experienced students. Advanced students, in turn, gain valuable insight by helping new students progress, thus providing a wider pool of technical knowledge, wisdom and insight.
Primero offers Capoeira Classes for both kids and adults that are taught by world renowned instructor; Espirro Mirim.
Primero also offers Fun Fit 30 for both kids and adults. This class takes the functional body movements of grappling and blends them into a fun and energizing strength and conditioning workout, without any of the grappling.
