Last Sunday, September 11th, was a very emotional day for the USA and the NY area in special.

There were many ceremonies to remember the victims of the terrorist attacks, ten years ago.

Jiu-Jitsu gave its humble collaboration with the already traditional Long Island Pride Tournament, held at the York College.

The event gathered people of all ages from over 30 schools from arround the conutry and abroad.

At the balck belt division, Jared Weiner (Lloyd Irvin) defeated GMA member Joseph Manuel (Cutting Edge BJJ) on a 10 minute fight. Both were awarded with comemorative plaques from the hands of Grand Master Francisco Mansur.

GMA member Claudio França was also present to draw the LI Pride champion that would win a free trip to compete at França’s US Open, on October 15-16. Alliance’s Caroline Freeman was the lucky one.

The 9-11 anniversary was celebrated with a minute of silence and part of the proceeds being donated to the 9/11 health foundation. Promoters  and GMA members, professors Milton Regis and Eloy Santos thanked all that made possible the success of the event.

The team’s podiums were dominated by GMA schools.
