The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Profesional Cup is getting ready to rock the city of Biella, Italy, from May 13 to 15. Besides the sixty thousand euros to be distributed as prize money, the event is offering superfights with big-name black belts.

This Wednesday the organization confirmed Kron Gracie, son of Rickson, one of the most famous representatives of Jiu-Jitsu’s first family. Kron will have across the mat from him Yan Cabral, a Brazilian residing in Spain. The two have squared off before, in the final of the 2009 European Open, with Kron coming out on top. So this time Yan will be looking for vindication.

“I’ve noticed great involvement from some of the biggest Jiu-Jitsu academies and teams in Europe. We’re promising a great structure that will make the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Professional Cup all the more special,” says event organizer Ari Galo.

The event will be held in Lauretana Forum Stadium, pictured above. Cash prizes will be awarded to athletes from white to black belt, female and men’s master categories too. Cash prizes will only be awarded if there is a match in the division in question. The juvenile, senior and super senior divisions will not have cash prizes but will award medals.

The event is open to all academies and sign-ups go until May 5, at a promotional rate until April 15. For further information, click here.
