If the United States’ Ultimate Fighting Championship has an average of two submissions per night, in Japan things are even more ground-centric. Lots of fights tend to end on the ground over there, and at Dream 12, held at Osaka Castle Hall this past 25th, the gang showed their slick as ever.

Led by an Alistair Overeem who proves to be ever more mature both standing and on the ground, and a more than mature Kazushi Sakuraba, the fighters served up some good positioning and finishing lessons – like local star Yoshiro Maeda’s odd choke over former WEC bantamweight champion Chase Beebe.
