Demian Maia tried to submit Mario Miranda every way he could at this Saturday’s UFC 118 in Boston, but his slippery opponent escaped every effort.
“I controlled the standup game well, landed good takedowns, but couldn’t manage to finish. I’m going to go back and contemplate that now,” admitted the Brasa black belt.
Nevertheless, Maia controlled his opponent throughout the bout, landing solid takedowns and using his Jiu-Jitsu well.
“It was a good challenge; the guy’s tough. I managed to make it to good positions for finishing, but didn’t manage to. The guy is tough,” he remarked.
