The latest episode of Brazil’s “Sensei Sportv” martial arts TV show was a festival of sightly images, information and worthwhile lessons. Among the cooler scenes was an all-Nova União roll in the gi between André Pederneiras and José Aldo, not to mention the highlights of Alistair Overeem against Brock Lesnar in the octagon.

What caught the GRACIEMAG.com team’s attention, though, was a brief interview with BJ Penn by Ana Hissa (at around minute 9 in the video below), where the former UFC champion states what most impresses him about “Dedé” Pederneiras as a Jiu-Jitsu teacher.

IN JIU-JITSU, THERE’S ALWAYS AN ANSWER

“He’s a great person, a great teacher. He really does know how to get his students to believe in themselves. And there’s something about him: I’ve never had a question he didn’t know how to answer,” says BJ Penn in praise.

That statement opens an instructive debate, wouldn’t you agree? To you, dear reader, what’s the greatest quality a Jiu-Jitsu teacher should have? Please let us know what you think in the comments field below.
