UFC Hall of Fame member Royce Gracie was the promotion’s first superstar, having gone eleven fights without losing at a time when fighters fought gloveless and there were no weight divisions.
There’s been quite a buzz surrounding the possibility of the now-44-year-old Gracie making the final appearance of his career August 27 at UFC Rio. President of the promotion Dana White has already chimed in saying there’s not a chance in the world, however, not always do the promotional top dog’s words match what he really has cooking.
The chances seem next to nil, it can’t be denied, but true fans still carry a glimmer of hope in their hearts.
