2014 Pan: all you need to know to have a great championship

The Pan Jiu-Jitsu Championship is the most popular event in the IBJJF calendar.

Here is a quick guide so you can have an awesome time at the event.

When is the 2014 Pan taking place?

March 12 – 16, 2014

What time the 2014 Pan starts at each day?

Wed. March, 12 – 2PM

Thu. March 13 – 9AM

Fri. March 14 – 9AM

Sat. March 15 – 9AM

Sun. March 16 – 9AM

What’s the cost of tickets for the 2014 Pan?

Wednesday/Thursday/Friday – $12.00
Saturday/Sunday – $15.00
*Children 12 y.o. and under enter free*

Where can I park?

There’s a 1,300-car parking structure right next to the Bren Events Center. The cost is $10 per day.

Where can I watch the 2014 Pan if I stay at home?

Where can I see the schedule of fights for each day?

The IBJJF made available two kinds of schedule.

I’m a black belt and I’ll be coaching at the Pan. Are there any rules I have to follow?

The IBJJF prepared a code of conduct for coaches during the 2014 Pan. Read it here.

Can I register for the open class in my category?

Athletes who placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the following weight divisions are eligible to register for the Open Class bracket:
Juvenile (Middle Weight and above) – Blue and Purple Belts
Adult division – Blue, Purple, Brown
Master division – Blue, Purple, Brown and Black Belts

All Black Belt competitors in the Adult Division are eligible to compete in the Open Class division.

The athletes who are willing to register for the open class may do so at the event’s open class registration table. There will be registration deadlines for each open class division, which will be posted alongside the event’s schedule. Athletes will not be able to register for the open class division after its registrations deadline.

There will not be an open class for the following divisions:
All White Belts
Juveniles (Light Weight and below)

I’m a black belt in the adult division. Do I need to bring a Royal Blue and a white gi to the competition? 

Yes. Black belt adult division athlete’s should bring one royal blue and one white gi for use during the semi-finals and finals.
