The leader of BJJ Revolution Team, in San Diego, will welcome black belt Marcelo Alonso.

The class starts at 10:30AM and goes until 1:00PM.

Luiz Sergio Correa, leader of Marra Senki, will be welcoming BJJ revolution Team leader, Rodrigo Medeiros, for a three hours class next September 29th.

Rodrigo Medeiros is a 4th degree black belt under legend Carlson Gracie and a highly decorated competitor.

17 de setembro é um dia chave para os atletas que querem participar de algumas das principais competições da IBJJF em solo americano.

Este sábado é o último dia de inscrições para o Nacional Americano de Jiu-Jitsu, que acontece nos dias 24 e 25, na California State University Dominguez Hills, em Carson. Vale lembrar que também é disputado, simultâneamente, o Nacional Sem Kimono. Saiba mais clicando aqui.

E para a galera que se prepara para a temporada de competições sem kimono, é o último dia com desconto para se inscrever no Pan No Gi. A competição será disputada em Nova York, no Nat Holman Gymnasium, no dia 1º de outubro. Para saber mais, clique aqui.

September 17 is a key day for athletes who want to participate in some of the main IBJJF competitions on American soil.

This Saturday is the last day to sign up for the American National Jiu-Jitsu Championship, to take place on the 24th and 25th at California State University Dominguez Hills, in Carson, California. It’s worth noting that the National No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu Tournament takes place simultaneously. Find out more by clicking here.

And for the gang getting ready for the upcoming No-Gi season, the last day to sign up for less for the No-Gi Pan is today. The competition is set to take place in New York at the Nat Holman Gymnasium on October 1. Find out more, here.

Gabi Garcia ajudou a Alliance a conquistar o título por equipes.

O Pan 2011 trouxe disputas ferrenhas nos dojôs e reuniu as principais academias da modalidade.

Neste ano, a grande campeão foi a Alliance, repetindo o feito de 2010. O time da águia, comandado pelos mestres Romero Jacaré e Fabio Gurgel, ficou em primeiro na categoria adulto. Destaque para o segundo lugar da nossa GMA Lloyd Irvin, equipe que vem fazendo um excelente trabalho, e o terceiro lugar do bonde da Atos, que trabalhou duro num camp dedicado ao evento.

O feminino também foi da Alliance, enquanto a Gracie Barra conquistou o topo entre os masters e seniors. Na faixa-branca, o futuro promete com as feras da nossa GMA BJJ Revolution Team,no primeiro posto.

The 2011 Pan gathered Jiu-Jitsu’s main academies for heated disputes on the mat.

This year, the grand champion was Alliance, repeating its accomplishment from 2010. The team represented by an eagle, led by masters Romero Jacaré and Fabio Gurgel, took first place in the adult division. And kudos to our GMA Lloyd Irvin, the second-placed team, followed by Atos, in third.

The Alliance female team came out on top too, while Gracie Barra took first in the masters and seniors. And the future is bright for our GMA BJJ Revolution Team, which won the white belt contest.

O mestre Francisco “Toco” Albuquerque, faixa-preta de Carlson Gracie, segue uma série de seminários pelos EUA. Na academia comandada pelo faixa-preta Mauro Ayres, filial da Bjj Revolution Team e Nova Geração, em Davis, o professor fez um vídeo especial para os leitores do GRACIEMAG.com, com um estrangulamento que costuma utilizar nos treinos.

Master Francisco “Toco” Albuquerque, a Carlson Gracie black belt, forges ahead with a seminar tour across the United States. At the academy of black belt Mauro Ayres, a BJJ Revolution Team and Nova Geração affiliate in Davis, the teacher put together a special video for GRACIEMAG.com readers with a choke he often uses in training.

Toco urges readers to keep in mind that the arm of the hand holding the lapel for the choke (covered in the film shot) goes behind the opponent’s armpit.

A number of world Jiu-Jitsu’s big name black belts are confirmed for the World Pro tryouts in San Diego coming up March 5 and 6 at Point Loma High School gymnasium. World champion Lucas Leite and two-time Rio Open champion Luis Gustavo are two more stalwart competitors added to the list boasting names like Marcus Bochecha, Ricardo Demente, Guilherme Mendes, Clark Gracie, Rodrigo Caporal, Joel Tudor, Gilbert Durinho and Fabiano “Pega Leve” Scherner, among others.

However, among the thirteen fighter who will go on to compete at the main event, in Abu Dhabi, with all expenses paid, six are from the lower belt ranks. In the blue-and-white belt disputes, two men and two women will win their way. In the purple belt men’s division, another two will go, while female purple belts compete with the brown and black belts.

“The event is sure to bring great matches not just at black belt. Things will go off in the lower belts too! There’s a strong group that entered from Gracie Barra, BJJ Revolution team, Paragon, Atos, Nova União and Stronghold, among other. And we’re still expect more to sign up,” remarks Fernando Paradeda, the man promoting the event and running the Abu Dhabi Pro company.

Diversos faixas-pretas de nome no Jiu-Jitsu mundial estão confirmados para a seletiva do World Pro em San Diego, evento que acontece nos dias 5 e 6 de março, no no ginásio da Point Loma High School . O campeão mundial Lucas Leite e o bicampeão do Rio Open Luis Gustavo são mais duas feras que se juntam a nomes como Marucs Bochecha, Ricardo Demente, Guilherme Mendes, Clark Gracie, Rodrigo Caporal, Joel Tudor, Gilbert Durinho e Fabiano Scherner “Pega Leve”, entre tantos outros.

No entanto, entre os 13 lutadores que vão lutar no evento principal, em Abu Dhabi, com todas as despesas pagas, seis são das faixas coloridas. Nas disputas entre azuis e brancas vão dois atletas da categoria masculino e dois da categoria feminino. No masculino, mais dois da faixa-roxa – o roxa feminino luta junto da faixa-marrom e preta.

“O evento promete grandes disputas não apenas na faixa-preta. Entre o pessoal das graduações inferiores o bicho vai pegar! Entrou uma galera muito forte das academias Gracie Barra, BJJ Revolution Team, Paragon, Atos, Nova União e Stronghold, entre outras. E ainda esperamos mais inscrições”, comenta o organizador Fernando Paradeda, homem de frente na empresa de eventos Abu Dhabi Pro.
