A number of world Jiu-Jitsu’s big name black belts are confirmed for the World Pro tryouts in San Diego coming up March 5 and 6 at Point Loma High School gymnasium. World champion Lucas Leite and two-time Rio Open champion Luis Gustavo are two more stalwart competitors added to the list boasting names like Marcus Bochecha, Ricardo Demente, Guilherme Mendes, Clark Gracie, Rodrigo Caporal, Joel Tudor, Gilbert Durinho and Fabiano “Pega Leve” Scherner, among others.

However, among the thirteen fighter who will go on to compete at the main event, in Abu Dhabi, with all expenses paid, six are from the lower belt ranks. In the blue-and-white belt disputes, two men and two women will win their way. In the purple belt men’s division, another two will go, while female purple belts compete with the brown and black belts.

“The event is sure to bring great matches not just at black belt. Things will go off in the lower belts too! There’s a strong group that entered from Gracie Barra, BJJ Revolution team, Paragon, Atos, Nova União and Stronghold, among other. And we’re still expect more to sign up,” remarks Fernando Paradeda, the man promoting the event and running the Abu Dhabi Pro company.

Diversos faixas-pretas de nome no Jiu-Jitsu mundial estão confirmados para a seletiva do World Pro em San Diego, evento que acontece nos dias 5 e 6 de março, no no ginásio da Point Loma High School . No entanto, entre os 13 lutadores que vão lutar no evento principal, em Abu Dhabi, com todas as despesas pagas, seis são das faixas coloridas. Nas disputas entre azuis e brancas vão dois atletas da categoria masculino e dois da categoria feminino. No masculino, mais dois da faixa-roxa – o roxa feminino luta junto da faixa-marrom e preta.

“O evento promete grandes disputas não apenas na faixa-preta. Entre o pessoal das graduações inferiores o bicho vai pegar! Entrou uma galera muito forte das academias Gracie Barra, BJJ Revolution Team, Paragon, Atos, Nova União e Stronghold, entre outras. E ainda esperamos mais inscrições”, comenta o organizador Fernando Paradeda, homem de frente na empresa de eventos Abu Dhabi Pro.
