No dia 21 de janeiro de 2012, os amantes do esporte poderão conferir e participar do  Internacional Open de Jiu-Jitsu e Surf que acontece no Peru, em Lima, em Miraflores e Punta Hermosa.

Mediado por Ricieli Santos e pelo faixa-preta Marlon Ribeiro, o evento vai até o dia 23 e conta com as categorias infantil, infanto-juvenil, juvenil, adulto e master, masculino e feminino. Entre os participantes, vão estar lutadores e surfistas do Brasil, Peru, Chile, Uruguai, Equador, Argentina e Venezuela.

Ricieli, organizador de campeonatos desde os tempos de Rickson, Renzo e Wallid, foi o primeiro a criar o desafio de uma hora no Jiu-Jitsu, e agora aposta na ideia de aproximar as pessoas ao esporte, principalmente no Peru.

“Sempre frequentei o país com meu filho, Phillip Santos, que sempre gostou muito de esporte. Criei a competição para que os esportes continuem juntos no país”, diz.

Em 2012 a novidade do evento é a categoria de Long board e o standup, além de uma homenagem a mestre Carlson Gracie.

No dia 21 haverá seminários e workshop para os participantes. Já no dia 22 será o campeonato de Jiu-Jitsu. No último dia, é o surfe.

On January 21, 2012, Jiu-Jitsu and surfing lovers will get to participate at the International Jiu-Jitsu and Surfing Open in the Miraflores and Punta Hermosa neighborhoods of Lima, Peru.

Promoted by Ricieli Santos and black belt Marlon Ribeiro, the event will go till the 23rd and will include children, teenager’, adult and master divisions for males and females. Fighters and surfers from Brazil, Peru, Chile, Uruguay, Ecuador, Argentina and Venezuela will converge on the city for the event.

Ricieli, who has promoted events since the days of Rickson, Renzo and Wallid, was the first the promote a one-hour Jiu-Jitsu challenge, and now he’s aiming to draw more people to the sport, mainly in Peru.

“I’d always come to the country with my son, Phillip Santos, who always liked the sport a lot. I put the competition together so the sports will remain together in the country,” he says.

The news for the 2012 installment of the event is that there will be longboard and standup categories, as well as a tribute to Master Carlson Gracie.

The 21st will feature a seminar and workshops. Now on the 22nd the Jiu-Jitsu tournament will be held. On the final day, surfing.

In the wake of her gold medal-winning campaign at the Jiu-Jitsu World Championship beating Kyra Gracie in the final, black belt Michelle Nicolini took no rest and headed straight into her MMA debut. The fight went down at Peru’s Inka Fight event, and the CheckMat rep put her slick ground game to work in swiftly tapping out local fighter Cristina Mejia.

Depois de garantir o ouro no Mundial de Jiu-Jitsu com vitória sobre Kyra Gracie na decisão, a faixa-preta Michelle Nicolini não descansou e logo fez a sua estreia no MMA. A luta aconteceu no evento Inka Fight, no Peru, e a representante da CheckMat tratou de aplicar o seu justo jogo no chão para finalizar rapidamente a peruana Cristina Mejia.

After winning the featherweight division at the 2011 Worlds in California, Michelle Nicolini made her MMA debut this Thursday at Inka FC in Peru.

Keeping to her roots, the CheckMat black belt paid no heed to the partisan crowd and put away local fighter Cristina Mejia with an armbar. The fight was in the under-60kg division.

Now Michelle will turn her attention to No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu training for this year’s ADCC, to take place September in England.

Depois de vencer no peso pena do Mundial 2011, na Califórnia, Michelle Nicolini fez a sua estreia no MMA nesta quinta-feira, no Inka FC, evento realizado no Peru.

Sem abandonar as raízes, a faixa-preta da CheckMat não temeu a torcida e finalizou com um armlock a lutadora local Cristina Mejia. O combate foi na categoria até 60kg.

Agora Michelle volta a focar nos treinos de jiu-Jitsu sem kimono para a edição do ADCC deste ano, que acontece na Inglaterra, em setembro.

Mega Kombat holds its maiden event this Saturday, July 24 in Governador Valadares, in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. The event, which promises to be a force in the Brazilian domestic MMA scene, is going through its final preparations and one international athlete promises to make life hard on Brazilians in the octagon.

Jerry Tolentino, who has been in Brazil for two months training Jiu-Jitsu at Oriente academy, made his debut in the country with a win at Memorial Fight in the city of Santos, where he won via armbar. The fighter is set to face BTT’s Pedrinho Nobre, who will have his work cut out for him.

“I came to Brazil to pick up my Jiu-Jitsu and fight MMA. I want to test myself against the best Brazilians in my weight division and win,” declares the Peruvian.

One of MK’s promoters, Léo Bandeira is hopeful for the maiden installment of the event.

“As I’ve said before, we have a short-term growth estimate and propose to respect, above all, the public and fighters. We’re here in the market to stay,” he says.

A competição organizada por Ricieli Santos e por Marlon Ribeiro foi realizada paralelamente ao Black Belt Invitational of Surfing. Na parte seca da competição, o campeão absoluto foi Fernando Soluço. O professor da Alliance no Equador venceu o aberto roxa/marrom e preta ao superar Leandro da Snipper. No peso leve, o campeão foi o peruano Enzo Rios.

Participaram da competição atletas vindos da Argentina, Equador, Brasil, Chile, Peru, Cuba e EUA (Havaí). “Durante o evento rolou tambem um seminário com professor Luis Manimal, com a presença de vários atletas”, comentou Ricieli Santos com o GRACIEMAG.com.

Já o surfe rolou nas ondas de San Bartolo, e quem se deu melhor foi o local Gabriel Sorya, com o brasileiro Bruno Mureb em segundo.

The competition organized by Ricieli Santos and Marlon Ribeiro was held in parallel to the Black Belt Surfing Invitational. In the dry part of the competition, Fernando Soluço was crowned absolute champion. The Alliance Ecuador teacher won the purple, brown and black belt division after beating Leandro da Snipper. Enzo Rios won the lightweight division.

Athletes from Argentina, Ecuador, Brazil, Chile, Peru, Cuba and the USA (Hawaii) took part in the competition. “There was also a seminar by Professor Luis Manimal during the event, which a lot of athletes attended,” remarked Ricieli Santos to GRACIEMAG.com.

Now the surfing championship took place on the waves of San Bartolo, and the winner was local boy Gabriel Soria, with Brazil’s Bruno Mureb in second.

Though they may seem to have nothing to do with each other, it’s amazing how many Jiu-Jitsu practice surfing, and surfers who love putting on a gi for a roll.

Some examples from the gentle art are Rickson and Royler Gracie, who’ll never waste a good day’s waves. World-renowned surfers bow to the delights of the fight, too, like a longboarding super-champion Joel Tudor, who even competed in the ADCC, big-wave specialist and tough guy Rodrigo “Monster” Resende, from the BTT, and greatest surfer of all times Kelly Slater .

Anyway, all this is to talk about the Peru International Jiu-Jitsu Open. Aside from the competition and seminars on dates close to the April-25 event, there will also be the traditional Black Belt Surf competition.

“It’s a Jiu-Jitsu championship with several countries participating such as Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, Venezuela, Costa Rica and Chile, with seminars and surfing competition for black belts. We’re making the most of the fact it will be the Tiradentes holiday in Brazil. The ticket is cheap when on sale, “says one of the organizers.
