No último domingo terminou o 11° Pan Pacific Jiu-Jitsu, em Melbourne, na Austrália. Quem manda as notícias é o faixa-preta e empresário Victor Costa que, neste ano, faturou o ouro no Pan e no Brasileiro Sem kimono. O evento, organizado pela AFBJJ (www.afbjj.com), contou com 800 atletas no total e teve disputas com e sem kimono, entre os dias 26 e 28 de novembro. 

“O Alan do Nascimento “Finfou”, da equipe CheckMat, venceu na faixa-preta o peso (médio), com e sem kimono, e ainda venceu o absoluto com kimono. Já eu fiquei com três medalhas de prata. A primeira foi de kimono, no peso super-pesado. No sem kimono lutei no pesadíssimo, porque na minha categoria não havia lutas. E fiquei em segundo também no absoluto sem kimono. Deixei escapar a vitória nos últimos cinco segundos, quando vencia por uma vantagem e tomei uma queda”, conta Victor ao GRACIEMAG.com. 

“O vencedor do absoluto foi o “Big Mick” Mick Willson, da Peter de Been Team Austrália. O cara é um gigante, pesa 113 kg!”, completa. 

“O Finfou venceu duas lutas por finalização no absoluto com kimono antes de bater o Rafael Lang na semifinal por pontos. Na final, venceu o Big Mick por 6 a 2. Raspou e pegou as costas, depois tomou uma raspagem no fim.”

Outros destaques do evento foram Carlos Vieira Português (Cia Paulista), campeão no peso leve com kimono; Rafael Lang (Garra JJ), campeão no meio-pesado com kimono; e Pedro Pacheco (Tukaha JJ), campeão no meio-pesado sem kimono. Para conferir todos os resultados, clique aqui.

Depois do evento, Victor e Finfou continuam as viagens pelo mundo com muito Jiu-Jitsu. 

“Partimos na quinta-feira para um seminário na Malásia, sábado, na academia do Marcus Escobar, e no domingo em Singapura, na academia do Alexsandro Machado “Leke”. Enfim, está tudo bem legal por aqui, uma ótima experiência”, encerra Victor.

Last Sunday the 11th Pan-Pacific Jiu-Jitsu Championship came to a close in Melbourne, Australia. Victor Costa, who earlier this year took gold at the Pan and No-Gi Brazilian Nationals, sent in the news. The AFBJJ- (www.afbjj.com) organized event had a total of 800 athletes competing for gold in both gi and no-gi disputes between the 26th and 28th of November.

“Alan ‘Finfou’ do Nascimento, of team CheckMat, won the middleweight black belt gi and no-gi divisions and also took gold in the gi absolute. Now I took three silvers. The first was in the superheavyweight gi division. I went in as an ultraheavyweight in the no-gi competition because there were no matchups for me in my division. I also took second in the no-gi absolute. I let victory slip through my fingers in the last five seconds, when I was winning by an advantage point but ended up getting taken down,” recounts Victor to GRACIEMAG.com.

“The winner of the absolute was Mick ‘Big Mick’ Wilson, of Peter de Been Team Australia. The guy’s huge, weighs 113 kg!” he adds.

“Finfou won two matches in the absolute by submission before beating Rafael Lang in the semifinal on points. In the final, Big Mick won by 6 to 2. He swept and got back mount, then had a sweep scored against him at the end.”

Some other standouts at the event were Carlos Vieira Português (Cia Paulista), who won the gi lightweight division; Rafael Lang (Garra JJ), winner of the medium heavyweight gi division; and Pedro Pacheco (Tukaha JJ), winner of the medium heavyweight no-gi division.  Click here for the complete results.

After the event Victor and Finfou set off on their Jiu-Jitsu tour of the world again.

“We took off Thursday for a seminar at Marcus Escobar’s academy in Malaysia on Saturday, and Sunday in Singapore, at Alexsandro “Leke” Machado’s academy. Everything has been great around here, it’s been an excellent experience,” says Victor in closing.

Depois das vitórias no Pan e Brasileiro Sem Kimono, este último no absoluto, Victor Costa se prepara para competir novamente, mas agora com o kimono e na terra dos cangurus.

“Vamos participar do Pan Pacific Jiu-Jitsu Championship, na Austrália, eu e o Alan do Nascimento Finfou”, conta o representante da CheckMat.

O evento acontece entre os dias 26 e 28 de novembro, em Melbourne, realizado pela Federação Australiana de Jiu-Jitsu (www.afbjj.com). As disputas vão contar com atletas de toda a Oceania e Ásia.
