A second degree black belt under Andre Terencio, Marcos Cerqueira will be in town soon for Chicago locals. At Brazil 021 there will be a seminar at the academy of Andre Terencio and Hannette Staack on March 28.

Professor Marcos Cerqueira is the head instructor of the Brazil 021 affiliate academy in Houston, TX.

The seminar will run from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The academy is located at 401 West Ontario Street 4th Floor, Chicago, IL 60654.

For Brazil 021 members, the cost is $40 and for non-members, the cost is $60.

Jiu-Jitsu segue no combate à violência nas escolas

O problema do “bullying” nos Estados Unidos, atos de violência entre alunos nos colégios, vem sendo reportado aqui no GRACIEMAG.com, pois o Jiu-Jitsu vem sendo uma importante arma no combate aos valentões.

Ryron e Rener Gracie comentaram amplamente o assunto, inclusive em reportagem que ganhou destaque na CNN, um dos maiores canais de notícias do mundo (reveja aqui). Outro que trabalha nesse sentido é o faixa-preta da Brazil 021 Marcos Cerqueira, no Texas. O professor também ganhou destaque em reportagens nos EUA.

“Não ensino as crianças a lutar, mas sim a se protegerem. Assim, a criança constrói autoconfiança. Você tem mais respeito por si mesmo e as outras pessoas percebem”, comenta.

Jiu-Jitsu forges ahead battling school violence

The problem of bullying afflicting the United States’ schools has been reported here on GRACIEMAG.com, since Jiu-Jitsu has been seen to be a tool to combat these school bullies.

Ryron and Rener Gracie have voiced their thoughts on the subject widely, including in a report featured on CNN, one of the biggest news broadcasting services in the world (rewatch here). Another effort being made on the matter is by Brazil 021 black belt Marcos Cerqueira, in Texas. The teacher was another to feature on a news report in the USA.

“They don’t learn how to fight, they learn how to protect themselves. When you do that, you have more self-confidence. You have more respect for yourself, and others notice,” he comments.
