Para fechar a temporada 2015 da IBJJF, foi realizado o Irvine Open, no último domingo, no Bren Events Center, e o evento atraiu centenas de atletas para um dia recheado de combates.

No adulto faixa-preta masculino, o dono do dia foi Gabriel Arges, da Gracie Barra. O campeão mordeu dois ouros na competição, com o primeiro no meio-pesado, após bater Lucas Barbosa duas vezes, e no absoluto com vitórias sobre Carlos Farias e novamente sobre Lucas Barbosa, antes de abrir na final com o companheiro de equipe Inácio Neto.

Sarah Black contra Kiri Liao

No feminino faixa-preta, Sarah Black (GD Jiu-Jitsu) também fechou com dobradinha dourada, ao bater Kiri Liao no peso leve e finalizar Jill Barker e Liao novamente para o topo do peso aberto.

Com duas raspagens contra uma, Nathan Mendelsohn venceu Allessandro Ferreira por 4 a 2 no superpesado.

Depois de um empate em 10 a 10, com cinco raspagens para cada um,, Tanner Rice venceu Inácio Neto na decisão dos árbitros pelo ouro no pesado.

Gabriel Arges venceu Lucas Barbosa por 3 a 1 nas vantagens após 2 a 2 nos pontos no meio-pesado.

Com uma raspagem no fim da luta, Gabriel “Timbó” Procópio venceu Gabriel Goulart por 2 a 1 nas vantagens depois de 2 a 2 nos pontos pelo ouro dos médios.

Thiago Macedo venceu Marcelo Motta por 2 a 0 na disputa do peso leve.

Samir Chantre venceu Richard Slomba por 3 a 2 nas vantgens depois de 2 a 2 nos pontos pelo ouro no peso-pena.

Gabriel Moraes estrangulou Gustavo Carpio pelo título no peso-pluma.

Sarah Black bateu Kiri Liao por 5 a 0 no feminino peso leve.

Arges vs. Farias

Gabriel Arges and Sarah Black were the standouts of the final event on the 2015 IBJJF season.

The Irvine Open took place this Sunday at the Bren Events Center and attracted hundreds of athletes for a whole day of awesome thrills.

In the adult male black belt division, Gracie Barra’s Gabriel Arges had a double-gold campaign after wining the medium-heavyweight and the open class.

He beat Lucas Barbosa twice for the title in his weight class and then beat Carlos Farias and Barbosa once again before closing out the absolute with teammate Inácio Neto.

Black vs. Liao

In the adult female division, GD Jiu-Jitsu’s Sarah Black first beat Kiri Liao for the lightweight gold medal and then submitted Jill Baker and Liao for the absolute title.

The other divisions of the black belt division played out as follows:

The 2015 IBJJF season comes to an end this Sunday, Dec. 13, in Irvine, CA.

The Irvine International Open and the Kids International will gather hundreds of athletes at the Bren Events Center.

We prepared a quick guide for those who are going to compete.

The Bren Events Center is located at the University of California, Irvine (UCI).

There are plenty of parking near by in different parking structures.

You can choose to pay by hour or by day.

The kids’ event kicks off at 9:30AM and the IBJJF asks for competitors to be at the venue at least one hour prior to the scheduled time of their weight divisions.
