Bellator’s first pay-per-view will happen, but not on Nov.2 like they planned.

Bjorn Rebney, Bellator CEO, announced on a Friday conference call that Tito Ortiz’s injury and scrapping of the planned main event with Quinton “Rampage” Jackson will result in the company moving the card to Spike TV.

The card will air entirely for free with the prelims on SpikeTV.com and the main card on the cable television channel.

“While we’re disappointed that Tito’s injured … we’re thrilled that we’re going to be able to present the rest of that card to everybody on free TV, on Spike,” Rebney said.

The co-main event between lightweight champion Michael Chandler and Eddie Alvarez will move into the main event spot.

Ortiz suffered a fractured neck and was informed by his doctor that competing in the fight will have “dire consequences,” Rebney said. Ortiz wanted to follow through with the bout, but the fighter ultimately listened to his physician and bowed out of the fight.

Jackson will hopefully fight within the next few weeks, Rebney said, and the company chairman thinks they’ll be able to book a fight for him before the Thanksgiving holiday.

Anyone who already ordered the PPV will get a full refund, according to Spike TV executive Kevin Kay.

The Bellator pay-per-view just hit a major bump in the road.

Tito Ortiz has reportedly suffered a neck injury and been forced out of Bellator’s Nov. 2 PPV main event against Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.

MMAFighting.com reported that Ortiz had to bow out of the card, and Bellator officials are currently looking for a replacement.

Calls to Bellator by GRACIEMAG.com were not returned at the time of this publication.

The Bellator PPV, coined Bellator 106, is scheduled to take place at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, Calif.

An injury has forced welterweight Paulo Thiago out of his UFC Fight Night 27 match against TUF 17 winner Kelvin Gastelum, according to reports on Monday.

Globo reported that the Brazilian fighter injured his knee and cannot recover in time for the Aug. 28 fight card.

UFC officials are yet to announce the fighter’s removal from the card, and it is unknown at this time whether a replacement opponent will be given to Gastelum.

UFC Fight Night 27 is scheduled to take place at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse, in Indianapolis. The card is headlined by a rematch between former UFC interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann.

Renan Barao has sustained an undisclosed injury and been forced out of his UFC 161 interim title defense against Eddie Wineland, according to reports.

Barao and Wineland were scheduled to headline the card, which takes place on June 15 at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

No replacements have been confirmed for the match, and the UFC is yet to announce a change to the UFC 161 card.

At the time of this publication, a bout between Dan Henderson and Rashad Evans is tabbed to co-main event the card, preceded by a rematch between Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.

The injury bug has stung UFC 158.

Rory MacDonald has sustained an undisclosed injury and has been forced out of his UFC 158 bout with Carlos Condit, according to UFC officials on Monday.

In MacDonald’s place, Johny Hendricks will step in to fight Condit on the main card for the Montreal Pay-Per-View in March.

Hendricks was originally scheduled to face Jake Ellenberger on the welterweight-stacked fight card, but was pushed into the Condit fight with the MacDonald injury. A replacement opponent is currently being sought for Ellenberger.

Erick Silva has sustained an injury, forcing him out of his UFC 156 fight with Jay Heiron. Strikeforce’s Tyron Woodley will make his official move to the UFC and fight Hieron in Silva’s place.

Silva spent two weeks suffering from arm pain and a boil on his left leg, which through training became infected.

“I tried my best not to exit the card. I trained injured, tried to recover, but my elbow still bothers me,” Silva posted in Portuguese on his Twitter account. “I took antibiotics and my immune system dropped. I feel pain in my elbow, but the infection in my leg is a lot better. It’s less swollen and I’m still taking medication. I’ll continue my training and soon I’ll be stronger than ever. ”

UFC 156 takes place in Las Vegas on Feb. 2 at the Mandalay Bay.

Forrest Griffin has sustained a knee injury and is forced to withdraw from his UFC 155 bout with Phil Davis, according to UFC president Dana White.

The light heavyweight tore his medial collateral ligament, or MCL, and strained his anterior cruciate ligament, otherwise known as his ACL.

“[Griffin had] 20 cc’s removed from his knee and the saga continues at the UFC,” Whtie said in a post on Twitter.

No opponent has been named to replace Griffin in the fight with Davis, but it can only be assumed that a search is underway.

When contacted, Davis’ coach, Eric Del Fierro, had only one response to the news that his fighter’s opponent was injured: “Damn.”
