After winning the light heavyweight title at the gi tournament, beating Joseph Jr. (Paragon JJ) on Saturday, Inácio came roaring back on Sunday for the no-gi section, and won double gold. Before he overcame Marcus Wilson (Grappling Unlimited) with a beautiful triangle choke for the absolute title (see here), Inácio faced Robsinho Gracie for gold at heavyweight.

After a technical duel, Inácio Neto managed to sweep from closed guard and apply an arm triangle to ensure the top of the podium. Check it out!

O evento, que contou com disputas com e sem kimono, teve como nome maior o casca-grossa Inácio Neto, professor da Gracie Barra Westchase, no Texas. Com três ouros na competição a fera mostrou o poder e refino do seu jogo.

2014 was a big year for Gracie Barra Westchase. The addition of Black Belt Inacio Neto to the already talented pool of instructors brought in a fierce competition class, as well as new striking coaches Francisco Rivera and Oliver Jimenez, and growth in all of it’s programs. But what is the main contributor to the success of a school such as GB Westchase? The answer is simple: loyalty.

Black Belt, Ulpiano Malachias, has made his academy into a home for everyone who wears the Gracie Barra patch. He considers his students his teammates, and leads by example without hesitation. He trains with upper and lower belts, with the kids and adults, and passes down his knowledge to anyone who asks. His background in MMA and competitive Jiu Jitsu, as well as his diversity in working with black belts around the world, has enabled him to connect with just about everyone who walks through his doors, and they reciprocate.

These bonds grow stronger and stronger, making Gracie Barra Westchase a safe place for learning and growing as a family. Two long-time employees were also recognized at the anniversary party for their outstanding efforts as program directors, coaches and students themselves and they largely contribute to the family friendly environment that GBW is so well known for. In addition to making sure the academy runs smoothly and the students are given the best chance to learn and train! In early 2016, GB Westchase will be expanding again and moving to a new larger location so stay tuned!

Held on Saturday, January 31, at the Georgia International Convention Center, the tournament received great names in the sport searching for a gold medal.

Inácio Neto (Gracie Barra) was one of the highlights at black belt taking the absolute with a victory over Jeffery Boudreaux (Roberto Traven BJJ). Before, Inacio had reached the podium at light heavyweight, losing in the final to Gabriel Goulart (Alliance) in the same day.

Bruno Bastos (Bruno Bastos Assossiation) was another athlete who shone between black belts. Even with a third place in the open, Bruno made a great campaign in the tournament and won gold in ultra heavy division overcoming Carlos Eduardo Farias (Roberto Traven BJJ).

Mais uma vez o Atlanta Open de Jiu-Jitsu aqueceu o duro inverno dos EUA com o que há de melhor na arte suave. Realizado no último sábado, dia 31 de janeiro, no Georgia International Convention Center, o torneio recebeu grandes nomes do esporte em busca da sonhada medalha dourada.

Um dos destaques na faixa-preta ficaram para Inácio Neto (Gracie Barra), que levou a melhor no absoluto ao vencer Jeffery Boudreaux (Roberto Traven BJJ), e antes já havia conquistado o pódio no meio-pesado, ao perder na final para Gabriel Goulart (Alliance).

Outro que brilhou nos faixas-pretas foi Bruno Bastos (Bruno Bastos Assossiation). Mesmo com a terceira posição no aberto, Bruno fez ótima campanha no torneio e ficou com o ouro no pesadíssimo, ao superar Carlos Eduardo Farias (Roberto Traven BJJ).

The GB Season Opener happened last Saturday, Feb. 22, in Irvine, CA. This competition celebrates the beginning of the championships season to all red shield competitors and it is the 1st Gracie Barra Compnet event of 2014.

The GB Compnet is a groundbreaking organization that coordinate the sport aspect of Jiu-Jitsu championships at Gracie Barra, and is committed to stimulate all instructors, competitors and staff, strengthening the culture of sportsmanship inside the organization.

Inacio Neto, Brown Belt, conquered the highest place on the podium Saturday in Irvine. He won the Pro Division at the Open Class category. Born and raised in Brazil, the competitor now lives in California and he is also a BJJ instructor at Gracie Barra.

Nino Schembri vs. Yuri Simões

The last full video of a 2013 Las Vegas Open match features the adult male black belt super heavyweight final.

Yuri Simões (Check Mat) faced BJJ and MMA legend Nino Schembri (Nino Schembri Team) in a very exciting bout.

Keenan defeated Inacio Neto in Las Vegas

It’s always nice to see Keenan Cornelius fighting.

The best brown belt of the moment was in Las Vegas this last weekend and once again displayed his resourceful Jiu-Jitsu to win both the medium-heavyweight division and the open class.

Keenan had six fights and tapped out five opponents.
