The UFC President, Dana White, commented on tonight’s action a UFC Fight Night 50, in Mashantucket, CT.

The boss said that it’s too soon to talk about title shot for Ronaldo Jacaré, despite his great performance against Gegard Mousasi.

White also talked about the co-main event where Ben Rothwell knocked out Alistair Overeem.

Ronaldo Jacaré climbed another step towards a title shot in the UFC middleweight division.

The Brazilian defeated Gegard Mousasi by submission at their UFC Fight Night 50 main event bout, in Mashantucket, CT.

After dominating all three rounds, Jacaré trusted his Jiu Jitsu and found a guillotine choke to end the fight with only 30s to end the round.

After the fight, Jacaré spared no words when asked if he thinks he deserves an attempt at stripping Chris Weidman of his belt.

“Lyoto Machida fought five rounds with Mousasi and I finished him in the third. Anyone who says I don’t deserve a title shot don’t know what they are saying.”

In the com-main event, Ben Rothwell needed a little more than two minutes to knock Alistair Overeem out.

Ronaldo Jacaré is well known for his ground skills, as a two-time open class black belt Jiu-Jitsu world champion.

Jacare vs Mousasi on August 2

The UFC has announced a new battle for its pay-per-view card on August 2, at the Staples Center, in Los Angeles.

Nearly six years after their first meeting in 2008, top middleweight contenders Gegard Mousasi and Ronaldo “Jacaré” Souza will clash again.

In their first fight, Mousasi knocked out Souza in the first round.

Since then, both have gone on to win Strikeforce titles and become UFC contenders.

In their most recent bouts, Mousasi submitted Mark Munoz in the first round in May, and Souza decisioned Francis Carmont in February.

Aconteceu neste sábado, na Saitama Super Arena, no Japão, a 15ª edição do Dream. 

Na principal luta da noite, o ídolo nipônico Shinya Aoki usou mais uma vez o forte Jiu-Jitsu para finalizar. A vítima foi Tatsuya Kawajiri, com uma chave de calcanhar em apenas 1min53s de combate. 

Em outra luta aguardada, Gesias Cavalcante voltou aos ringues depois de ficar pouco mais de um ano afastado. O bicampeão do K-1 Hero’s não teve vida fácil contra Katsunori Kikuno e venceu por decisão dividida dos jurados.

Quem também venceu Gerard Mousasi, contra Jake O Brien. A surpresa ficou por conta de Tatsuya Mizuno. Contra o nocauteador Melvin Manhoef, que mais uma vez mostrou a fragilidade no chão, finalizou com uma chave kimura.
