A man wanted for armed robbery was killed by the police.

But before that, Mark Sepulveda had a close encounter with Mike Farhar.

They met in a parking lot and after giving away his wallet and car keys, Fahar had to fight for his life, as his aggressor tried to force him to get into the car with him.

Fahar fought back and avoided being taken into the car.

The news team looked for experts to explain the best way to do it and they found GMA member school Easton BJJ.

Black belt Larry King takes the stand to comment the situation.

GMA member Amal Easton is celebrating another birthday this Wednesday.

Amal is a Renzo Gracie black belt, in fact the seventh person to ever receive the black belt from Renzo.

Based in Colorado, Amal has two successful academies in Denver and Boulder.

His team is already spreading across the USA.

Black belts Finnie McMahon, in Fort Collins, Colorado, and George Andersch, in Fargo, North Dakota, are two of Easton’s former students that opened academies of their own.

Recently, Amal went to Brazil as one of Brendan Schaub’s coaches for UFC Rio.

Amal Easton, leader of Easton BJJ, graduated to the black belt the wife of George Andersch, Sarah.

George and Sarah Andersch are the leaders of Fargo BJJ, in North Dakota.

Sarah is Easton’s third female black belt.

The Renzo Gracie black belt gave us a heads up about a peculiar fact: “With Sarah, I have now graduated three couples to the black belt degree. Amanda Buckner & Jay Jack and Tessa & Finnie McMahon complete the list.”

Easton ties Andersh's new belt

Our GMA member Amal Easton, leader of Easton BJJ, in Colorado, travelled to Fargo, North Dakota, this week.

He taught a seminar at Fargo BJJ, the academy of also GMA member George Andersch.

Until yesterday, Andersch was a brown belt.

But at the end of the seminar, the new belt came from the hands of Easton.

Xande and Victoria

Happy birthday to Xande Ribeiro, our GMA member in San Diego, California. The two-time absolute Jiu-Jitsu world champion turned 29 this Wednesday. And 2010 begun just perfect to Xande. His first girl was just born and he does not hide how he feels about her: “Having a great day, my daughter is 3 months old(1 year with belly time ). I feel so happy and blessed . My birthday gift to myself was a lot of training today…sparring of course. And thank you all for so much care and love you show me. This inspires me and makes me go forward even stronger. Leopoldo and Henle

In Ventura, California, black belt Fabio Leopoldo, head of the GB branch there, promoted his student Joseph “Leonidas” Henle to purple belt last Friday! Any graduation is special, but this one is even more. Henle was the first student Leopoldo had when he moved to Ventura. “Even before I opened the academy I gave private lessons to Joe,” said Professor Fabio.

In Denver, Colorado, black belt Amal Easton has come up with another way to improve the teaching skills of his students at Easton BJJ. The EBJJ Adult instructor course that starts Febuary 22^nd. It is a 36 hour course and consists of 12 hours of classroom, 12 hours of assisting / monitoring and 12 hours of practical one on one or small group teaching. Down in Florida, Professor Larry Shealy congratulates his purple belt instructor Nathan Lang for getting the Black belt rank in Haganah, an Israeli combat system. Lang was awarded his Black Belt after 3 days of training with Haganah founder and Main Instructor Mike Lee Kanarak. Nathan is one of 34 people in the world who have achieved this rank!! Also in Florida, a encounter of GMAs took place at Renzo Gracie Weston. Stan Beck welcomed Renzo Gracie Mexico’s headcoach Mario Delgado for a seminar.
