ONE Championship is Asia’s biggest MMA organization and our GMA member Christian Uflacker is now one of their newest fighters.

The 170-pound division welcomes the 5-0 pro where Ben Askren currently holds the belt. Uflacker has not fought since 2012 due to a injury to his face as well as becoming more involved with the academy.

He is currently undefeated and has fought previously in both Bellator and Strikeforce, some of the top organizations in the United States.

In this organization he is expected to be a top contender for the 170-pound division belt.

This past weekend on Saturday June 28 and Sunday, June 29, the students at GMA Uflacker Academy competed locally in Chicago at the FIVE Grappling tournament.

On Saturday, the adult team took the mats with six competitors. They earned six gold medals and three silver medals.

Sunday belonged to the kids. There were five young competitors total and they took home seven gold medals and one silver medal.

So in total, Professor Christian “Xaropinho” Ulackers led eleven competitors to victory in two days and took thirteen gold medals and four silver medals home.

On April 5, Christian “Xaropinho” Uflacker of GMA Uflacker Academy in Chicago, Illinois promoted many of his students. The spring ceremony brought together the academy members where thirty-three students were promoted.

Most grand of them all were the six students who received their well-earned black belts.

The 2013 Chicago Fall Open ends the year for IBJJF tournaments in Chicago with its fourth championship to date this year. On Saturday, Oct. 12 the gi tournament will be held a Chicago State University starting at 9:30 a.m. with adult male blue belts.

The bracket consists of black belts Philipe Della Monica, Rodrigo Medeiros, Sean Bansfield and other members from GMA academies such as Renato Tavares Association, Team Redzovic, Brazil 021 School of Jiu-Jitsu, Uflacker Academy and more.

Black belt Christian Uflacker has joined the GMA team.

The leader of Uflacker Academy, in Chicago, Il, is the newest member of our Jiu-Jitsu community.

The signing with GMA came days after another MMA win for Xaropinho.

The professor competed last February 11, at the UFC 10 event, in Merrillville, Indiana.

Uflacker defeated LC Davis by judges decision.

He talks about the fight: “It was the evening’s main event and my opponent was very experienced, a IFL, Affliction,Dream, WEC veteran. He had 16 wins in his carreer. It was my 4th victory, with no losses so far.”
