O UFC montou seu octagon em Oberhausen, na Alemanha, na sua 122ª edição.

Na principal luta da noite, o japonês Yushin Okami acabou batendo o favorito Nate Marquardt por decisão unânime. Com o resultado, Okami chega à terceira vitória seguida no Ultimate e fica na frente da fila pelo cinturão de médios, que vai ser definido entre Anderson Silva e Vitor Belfort, em fevereiro. Okami tem a missão de colocar o Japão no topo do maior evento mundial.

The UFC set up its octagon in Oberhausen, Germany, for its 122nd installment.

In the headlining fight, Japan’s Yushin Okami ended up beating favored-to-win Nate Marquardt by unanimous decision. With the result Okami notches his third win in a row and takes the front of the line for a shot at the middleweight title, to be determined in the Anderson Silva-Vitor Belfort matchup in February. Okami’s mission is to put Japan at the top of the biggest event in the world.

Making his promotional debut, Carlos “Tá Danado” warned that he wasn’t in the UFC to piddle around. He kept his promise. Training with Roberto Gordo paid off for the Dacio Lira student, who used his slick Jiu-Jitsu skills to latch on to a leg and finish with a kneebar while still in the first round.

Now Vladimir Matyushenko wasted no time against UFC first-timer Alexandre Cacareco, who came into the bout without much time to prepare. Coming off a loss to Jon Jones, Matyushenko got back to his winning ways with a knockout at 2:20 min of the opening round.

Following a successful run in events across Europe, going undefeated with seven submissions and a knockout, Brazil’s Carlos Eduardo “Tá Danado” Rocha prepares for his Ultimate Fighting Championship debut against Kris McCray this Saturday in Germany.

For the encounter, the Jiu-Jitsu black belt relied on the help of coach Roberto Gordo, who will be in the fighter’s corner and sent in news to GRACIEMAG.com:

“I’m here with Eduardo Tá Danado. He just weighed in and is ready to debut on the right foot in UFC. He’s from Dacio Lira team in Ceará, and he trained with me for the last two months,” says Gordo.

Tá Danado should have the local crowd on his side, as he has been living in Germany for some time. Regardless, the fighter is confident.

“He’s a tough opponent, but we already have a strategy laid out to win, and I expect to finish him. I’ve never been in such great shape, I’m 110%,” warns the fighter.

Depois do sucesso em eventos na Europa, invicto em oito lutas com sete finalizações e um nocaute, o brasileiro Carlos Eduardo Rocha, o Tá Danado, se prepara para encarar Kris McCray na estreia pelo Ultimate Fighting, neste sábado, na Alemanha.

Para o desafio, o faixa-preta de Jiu-Jitsu contou com a ajuda do treinador Roberto Gordo, que está ao lado do lutador na Alemanha e mandou notícias ao GRACIEMAG.com:

“Estou aqui com o Eduardo Tá Danado, ele acabou de se pesar e está pronto para estrear com o pé direito no UFC. Ele vem da equipe Dacio Lira, no Ceará, e fez os treinamentos para essa luta comigo por dois meses”, diz Gordo.

Tá Danado deve ter o apoio local, já que mora na Alemanha há bastante tempo. Independentemente disso, o lutador está confiante.

“O adversário é duro, mas já temos a estratégia traçada para ganhar e a expectativa é de finalizar. Nunca estive tão bem, estou 110%”, avisa o lutador.

Faixa-preta que estreia no UFC no próximo sábado, Carlos Eduardo Rocha, o Tá Danado, é bem conhecido na Alemanha, país que sedia a edição número 122 do evento.

Depois da infância pobre na Paraíba, o Jiu-Jitsu surgiu para ele no Ceará, com a equipe de Darcio Lira. A arte suave levou o lutador a Hamburgo, na Alemanha, onde iniciou o cartel de oito vitórias, sete delas por finalização, além de um nocaute, quase todas no primeiro round. Melhor ainda, antes do desafio contra Kris McCray, Tá Danado, com o consentimento de seu mestre, realizou um sonho: se preparou com o treinador Roberto Gordo

“Ele é um cara que inspirou meu jogo no Jiu-jitsu e o seu time (Gracie Fusion-Evolve) tem alguns dos melhores. O que eu vivi enquanto treinei no Rio foi a realização de um sonho. Eu via esses caras na TV e depois treinei com eles. Isso me motivou mais do que nunca”, diz ao site do UFC.

A estreia vai ser contra McCray, vice-campeão da 11ª temporada do TUF, que nas cinco vitórias no cartel (uma derrota) conta com quatro finalizações. Será que vai ser uma luta bem movimentada no chão?

“Para os fãs que procuram minhas lutas e só veem finalizações, eu aviso: ‘Minha vida é um processo contínuo de aprendizado. Não foco meu treino em pés, pescoços ou braços. Eu estou entrando no octógono para mostrar o que um praticante de artes marciais tem de melhor: sabedoria.’”.

A black belt making his UFC debut next Saturday, Carlos Eduardo “Tá Danado” Rocha is a well known entity in Germany, where the 122nd promotional event will take place.

Following a poor upbringing in the Brazilian state of Paraíba, Jiu-Jitsu entered his life later in the state of Ceará, at the team of Darcio Lira. The gentle art took the fighter to Hamburg, Germany, where he amassed a record of eight wins, seven by way of submission, as well as a knockout, nearly all in the first round. Better still, in the lead-up to his fight against Kris McCray, “Tá Danado”, with the approval of his master, fulfilled a dream: he went to train under Coach Roberto Gordo.

“He inspired my Jiu-Jitsu game and he has some of the best fighters on his team (Gracie Fusion-Evolve). What I experienced while training in Rio was a dream come true. I’d seen the guys on TV and then I trained with them. That motivated me more than ever,” he told the UFC website.

His debut will be against McCray, runner-up of season eleven of the TUF reality show, who holds a record of five wins (one loss) with four submissions. Is it likely there will be some lively ground action in the fight?

“For the fans who see my fights and only see submissions, I have a warning: ‘My life is a continuous learning process. I don’t focus on feet, necks or arms in training. I’m going into the octagon to show the best of what a martial arts practitioner has: wisdom.’”

Alexandre Cacareco wreaking havoc on his opponents is no recent thing, whether at grappling tournaments, like the ADCC, or in MMA. However, the one thing missing was for the fighter to return to combat for a big promotion. Not anymore: Cacareco signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship and makes his debut at UFC 122 in Germany on November 13.

“I think he’ll put on a great show, because he’s been waiting for this opportunity for a long time and now it’s come. He’ll debut in Germany, so there isn’t much more than a month to go, and against Vladimir Matyushenko. He’s a great opponent, but Cacareco will do well for sure. I’m going to help him as much as I can to be sure it happens,” says Rudimar Fedrigo, the master at Chute Boxe, to GRACIEMAG.com.

Now Cacareco is overjoyed with his shot in the UFC:

“I was even on the Sensei SporTV show (Brazilian television program) where I said I’d become unmotivated for going so long without appearing in a big event. Master Rudimar told me things were moving, but I never believed it would happen nor that the opportunity would be in the UFC. When he called me yesterday (Tuesday) and told me I was in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, I was overjoyed. I’m where every fighter wants to be!” he says in celebration.

“I just got kind of desperate, because there’s only a month till the fight and I was kind of off focus. But I have this time to get my body up to speed,” he adds.

For his opponent, Vladimir Matyushenko, Cacareco has nothing but respect.

“His heart and determination is unarguable. He’s a warrior who doesn’t duck a fight and he’s really tough. He’s fought in the UFC against top opponents. I’m coming in now so it’s hard to say things about those who are already there”

In the division I admire Shogun and Lyoto” Cacareco

In one of the most stacked division there is (light heavyweight), packed with stars, the fighter doesn’t hide who his favorites are.

“The two top fighters I admire most are Shogun and Lyoto. One is the champ and the other is the former champ. To me they’re the best,” says Cacareco in closing, asking the support of the fans.

“I’d like to ask that everyone cheers for me on November 13 and to thank Master Rudimar, who is the main reason these things are happening for me.”

Não é de hoje que Alexandre Cacareco incomoda os adversários, seja nas competições de luta de chão, como o ADCC, ou no MMA. Entretanto, faltava ao lutador voltar a combater numa grande organização. Não falta mais: Cacareco assinou com o Ultimate Fighting e estreia no UFC 122, na Alemanha, no dia 13 de novembro. 

“Acho que ele vai se apresentar muito bem, porque estava esperando essa oportunidade há bastante tempo e agora ela apareceu definitivamente. Ele estreia na Alemanha, então falta pouco mais de um mês, e contra o Vladimir Matyushenko. É um grande adversário, mas tenho certeza que o Cacareco vai muito bem. Vou ajudá-lo ao máximo para isso”, comenta Rudimar Fedrigo, o mestrão da Chute Boxe, ao GRACIEMAG.com.  

Já Cacareco é só alegria pela chance no UFC: 

“Fiz até uma matéria para o “Sensei SporTV”, em que dizia que estava desmotivado por tanto tempo longe dos treinos e dos grandes eventos. O mestre Rudimar me dizia que as coisas estavam andando, mas não imaginava o que iria acontecer e nem acreditava na oportunidade no UFC. Quando ele me ligou ontem (terça-feira) e me disse que estava no Ultimate, fiquei feliz da vida. Estou onde todos os lutadores querem!”, comemora. 

“Fiquei apenas meio desesperado, porque falta apenas um mês e estava fora de foco. Mas tenho esse tempo para botar o corpo em dia”, completa.

Sobre o adversário, Vladimir Matyushenko, Cacareco prega o respeito. 

“A garra e determinação é indiscutível. Ele é um cara guerreiro, que não se esconde na luta e é muito duro. Já fez lutas no Ultimate e contra vários atletas de ponta. Estou chegando agora e fica complicado falar de quem está lá dentro.”

Numa categoria das mais disputadas (meio-pesado), cheia de astros, o lutador não esconde os seus favoritos. 

“Os dois lutadores na ponta, que admiro muito, são o Shogun e o Lyoto. Um é o campeão e o outro é o ex-campeão. Para mim são os melhores”, encerra Cacareco, que pede o apoio dos fãs: 

“Peço que a galera torça por mim no dia 13 de novembro e agradeço muito ao mestre Rudimar, que é a principal peça nessas coisas que estão acontecendo.”

UFC president Dana White confirmed via twitter that Anderson Silva will defend his UFC middleweight belt against Vitor Belfort. Although no date has yet been confirmed, the bout will likely take place at UFC 125, on January 1^st, 2011 in Las Vegas.

Anyone who checked GRACIEMAG.com earlier in the day saw how the “Phenom” was injured and had to pull out of his UFC 122 fight, where the Brazilian would have faced Japan’s Yushin Okami and the winner would be next in line to challenge for the middleweight belt. However, Dana White stated that Belfort is not in fact injured, just his fight with Okami, who now faces Nate Marquardt. The Carlson Gracie black belt will now go after the “Spider”, who would have had a rematch with Sonnen, but the American failed to pass a banned-substances test and is suspended from the Ultimate Fighting Championship for a year.

In a recent interview on Brazilian television program UFC sem Limites, Vitor expressed a great desire to face Anderson Silva.

“He knows it, if my hand lands on him he won’t be able to keep his feet,” he challenged.

O presidente do UFC, Dana White, confirmou através de seu Twitter a luta entre Anderson Silva e Vitor Belfort pelo cinturão do UFC. Ainda sem data definida, o duelo possivelmente acontecerá no UFC 125, no dia 01 de janeiro de 2011, em Las Vegas.

Hoje pela manhã você leu aqui no GRACIEMAG que o Fenômeno se lesionou e está fora do UFC 122. No evento, o brasileiro enfrentaria o japonês Yushin Okami, e o vencedor do embate seria o próximo postulante ao cinturão dos médios. Dana comentou que Belfa não está lesionado, apenas foi cancelada sua luta com Okami, que agora encara Nate Marquardt. O faixa-preta de Carlson Gracie cai para dentro do Aranha, que faria a revanche com Chael Sonnen, mas o americano foi pego no teste anti-doping e esta suspenso do Ultimate por um ano.

Em entrevista recente ao programa UFC sem Limites da Rede Tv, Vitor demonstrou toda a vontade de enfrentar Anderson Silva.  

“Ele sabe disso, se a minha mão pegar nele, ele não fica em pé”, disparou.

Since recovering from shoulder surgery, Vitor Belfort has again been struck by injury, and the fighter is out of the bout with Yushin Okami that would have taken place at UFC 122 November 13 in Germany.

Although it isn’t yet clear what kind of injury has befallen the “Phenom”, a number of websites have confirmed that Vitor is out. In his place goes Nate Marquardt, who is coming off a win over Rousimar Toquinho at UFC 22.

Depois de se recuperar de uma cirurgia no ombro, as lesões voltaram a atrapalhar Vitor Belfort. Por isso, o lutador está fora da luta contra Yushin Okami, que aconteceria na Alemanha, no dia 13 de novembro, no UFC 122. 

Ainda não há esclarecimentos sobre a contusão do “Fenômeno”, entretanto, segundo diversos sites confirmam, o combate não vai acontecer. Inclusive, o substituto já foi escolhido. Vai ser Nate Marquerdt, que vem de vitória sobre Rousimar Toquinho no UFN 22.
