O domingo foi de muitas disputas no Rio de Janeiro com O Troféu Rio de Jiu-Jitsu e os faixas-pretas estiveram em ação. Renan Vital, por exemplo, ficou com a passagem sorteada para o Mundial de Jiu-Jitsu 2011, na Califórnia, e a Soul Fighters garantiu o primeiro lugar entre as equipes.

De volta aos dojôs depois de uma contusão no joelho, como o GRACIEMAG.com noticiou, Raphael Abi Rihan (Carlson Gracie) lutou entre os masters. O faixa-preta fez bonito e venceu na categoria meio-pesado e no absoluto. Na divisão aberta, bateu André Marola na final.

“Foi muito bacana e emocionante voltar a lutar, com toda a torcida. No peso finalizei com um armlock e depois com um estrangulamento para fechar com o meu companheiro Gustavo Granha. No absoluto, numa chave de três, primeiro venci André Marola (Nova União) no 0 a 0, numa luta muito dura. Ele bateu o adversário dele, então nos reencontramos na final. Novamente foi uma luta dura e consegui uma queda no último minuto. Foi uma grande honra lutar com o Marola, um dos ícones do Jiu-Jitsu”, comenta Abi.

Mas a festa seguiu na faixa-preta adulto. No absoluto, o melhor foi Marcio Romão (Soul Fighters). No pesado, o melhor foi o atleta da Gordo-Evolve Renan Vital. Luiz Fernando Pimpolho (Nova União) faturou o ouro no meio-pesado, Maximiliano Campos (CheckMat) foi o melhor no pena, enquanto Leandro Escobar “Tatu” (Soul Fighters) subiu no alto do pódio no pluma.

Na faixa-marrom, mandou bem a dupla da GFTeam José Carlos e Marcus Vinícius “Morcego”. O primeiro venceu no médio e o segundo no leve. Depois, fecharam no absoluto. Osvaldo Augusto “Queixinho” (Soul Fighters) também foi bem, vencedor no peso pena.

Na faixa-roxa, Kaue Damasceno (Nova União) venceu no peso pesado e absoluto. Na azul o ouro absoluto foi para Peixinho (Nova União).

Como esta era a última etapa do ranking FJJD-Rio, foram definidos também os vencedores das passagens para os eventos da IBJJF. José Carlos “Polenguinho” (Nova União) vai ao Europeu de Jiu-Jitsu, já que foi o atleta com maior pontuação entre os da faixa-azul e roxa. Entre os atletas da marrom e preta, ainda vai ser divulgado o vencedor.

As próximas competições da entidade, no dia 28 de novembro, vão ser o Estadual Sem Kimono e o Festival Infantil, esta para atletas do pré-mirim ao juvenil.

“It was awesome and exciting to compete again, with the whole crowd that was there. At weight I first won by armbar and the with a choke to shut out the bracket with my teammate Gustavo Granha. In the absolute, in a bracket of three, first I beat André Marola (Nova União) in a tough 0-0 match. He beat his opponent, so we met again in the final. Again it was a tough match and I managed a throw in the last minute. It was a great honor to fight Marola, one of Jiu-Jitsu’s icons,” remarks Abi.

But the party continued with the black belt adult division. In the absolute, Marcio Romão (Soul Fighters) came out the winner. At heavyweight, Gordo-Evolve rep Renan Vital was the winner. Luiz Fernando “Pimpolho” (Nova União took gold at medium heavyweight, while José Varella (GFTeam) and Leandro “Tatu” Escobar (Soul Fighters) won at featherweight and light featherweight, respectively.

At brown belt, GFTeam duo José Carlos and Marcus Vinícius “Morcego” had a great showing. The former won the middleweight division and the latter, the lightweight. Then, the two shut out the absolute. Osvaldo Augusto “Queixinho” (Soul Fighters) did well for himself in winning the featherweight contest.

At purple belt, Kauê Damasceno (Nova União) won the heavyweight and open weight divisions. At blue, absolute gold went to Peixinho (Nova União).

As this was the final leg in the FJJD-Rio ranking, the winners of the tickets to the IBJJF events were determined. José Carlos “Polenguinho” (Nova União) will go to the European Jiu-Jitsu Championship, as he scored the greatest number of points of the blue and purple belts. Of the brown and black belts, the winner has yet to be announced.

The organization’s next competition is set for November 28, when the No-Gi State Championship and Kids Festival, for child and juvenile competitors, will take place.
