Claudia do Val. Arena Jiu-Jitsu

After winning medium heavyweight gold at the IBJJF Worlds, Claudia do Val just wanted a refreshing dose of some more hard work, of course.

Looking to score points for the 2018/2019 rankings, the member of De La Riva team entered the Spanish National, held last weekend in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Claudia went unopposed in the super-heavyweight division, but Charlotte von Baumgarten (Alliance) stood between her and the gold medal in the absolute.

Known for her dangerous game from the bottom, Claudia took on Charlotte’s guard, opened it to pass, took the back, and then used a bow-and-arrow choke with great precision. Watch it here:

Depois de conquistar o ouro meio-pesado no Mundial de Jiu-Jitsu, Claudia do Val não quis saber de férias e já voltou com tudo ao cenário competitivo.

Na busca de pontos para o ranking faixa-preta 2018/2019, a faixa-preta da equipe De La Riva entrou em ação no Spanish National, que rolou no último final de semana, em Guadalajara, México.

Para brilhar no torneio e voltar com o ouro duplo na mochila, após não encontrar adversárias no super-pesado, Claudia encarou Charlotte von Baumgarten (Alliance) no absoluto.

Conhecida por seu jogo perigoso por baixo, Claudia encarou a guarda de Charlotte, abriu para passar, ganhou as costas e atacou com precisão no estrangulamento arco e flecha.

The IBJJF will be hosting its first ever Spanish National Jiu-Jitsu championship on May 14.

The event will take place in Guadalajara, 60km (37mi) northeast of the capital Madrid.

You have until May 6 to register and have the chance to be part of the first class of champions in this brand new event.

If you are a black belt in the adult division, this is a great opportunity to add points and be able to register for the 2016 Worlds (you need at least 50pts to register).
