The sheer volumes of water resulting from a cloudburst in the mountain region of Rio de Janeiro has taken hundreds of lives, among them the mother of our GMA Pablo Popovitch, Soraya. Pablo’s plight is representative of thousands suffering from the catastrophe in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The family home was completely destroyed, as can be seen in the video below sent in by the fighter, and his father’s life is currently at risk.

Popovitch launched a website to collect donations to help treat his father. Furthermore, a number of black belts in the American state of Florida are holding a benefit seminar at American Top Team headquarters on January 30.

A tragédia causada pela forte chuva na Região Serrana do Rio de Janeiro totalizou centenas de mortos, entre eles a mãe do faixa-preta e nosso GMA Pablo Popovitch, Soraya. Pablo é um dos tantos exemplos da tragédia no Rio. A casa da família foi completamente destruída, como é possível ver no vídeo abaixo, enviado pelo lutador, e seu pai ainda corre risco de vida.

Popovitch abriu um site de doações para ajudar no tratamento do pai. Além disso, diversos faixas-pretas da Flórida vão fazer um seminário beneficente na American Top Team, no dia 30 de janeiro.
