Leandro Lo tarevelled to Santa Cruz, California, on August 29 to take part in the IBJJF Santa Cruz BJJ Pro.

He competed in the middleweight division and faced Julian Marquez in the final for the $4,000 money prize.

Leandro Lo at the Santa Cruz BJJ Pro

The 2015 Santa Cruz BJJ Pro took place this Saturday in Northern California.

João Miyao, Leandro Lo, Thiago Silva and James Puopolo were the champions of the four black belt divisions.

Each male black belt champion took home $4,000 and the second place finishers got $1,000.

In the middleweight division, Leandro Lo caught Julian Marquez with a choke while still on the opponent’s half guard. Watch the video here.

In the female division, Chelsea Bainbridge-Donner won the open class division with a victory over Amanda Loewen. Chelsea took home $1,500. Watch the match here.
