Professor Renato Migliaccio, owner of GMA member school Sampa Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts center, has announced that he is offering a free self-defense seminar for 40 years old and Plus in the communities of Glendora, San Dimas, Covina, Azusa and La Verne. The event will take place at 2 p.m. on Feb. 4. Those interested in participating are asked to call 626-335-4971.

“This is a place where people come to conquer their limits,” said Professor Renato Migliaccio.

Physical assaults continue to escalate, requiring people to be more aware of their personal safety and methods for protecting themselves. The seminar provides methods specific to women that can be used to fend off an attacker, along with valuable information on awareness, safety and ways to avoid being a target.

After years of traveling the world teaching, training and competing, Migliaccio opted to open his own school in the U.S. and share his expertise of Sampa Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, kickboxing and mixed martial arts. He’s a 3rd degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Master Ryan Gracie, and a 3rd degree black belt in Judo. A recognized authority on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, his school represents the center of the Brazilian method in the U.S. Migliaccio offers a free 30-day trial and free video to familiarize individuals with what the studio has to offer.

His unique methods combine elements of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, gymnastics and judo, along with kickboxing and conditioning training for a program that’s equally appropriate for adults and children. Migliaccio utilizes unconventional and little known world-class training methods to assist students in becoming more confident and physically fit.

As a world champion instructor, Migliaccio offers a variety of classes for students at all skill levels, from novice to master. Sessions are available for those who want to get fit and lose weight, learn self-defense, and participate in competitions. Classes are available for children, adults and veterans. Students learn self-discipline, social skills and coordination, while engaging in an effective and practical means of self-defense. Classes are always conducted with the student’s safety in mind.

For a more strenuous program, students can participate in kickboxing and Muay Thai sessions. Kickboxing incorporates elements of gymnastics and condition, while Muay Thai is concerned with the fighting aspect of the art. Private classes for various disciplines can be arranged to accommodate those with special circumstances.

Fans can follow the center on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/sampabjj and on Twitter at http://twitter.com/bjjrenato. Migliaccio also maintains an informative blog on his website.

Migliaccio’s free seminar provides to this public the opportunity to learn ways to protect themselves and avoid being a victim. The academy offers a one-stop learning and training center, providing classes in Jiu Jitsu, kickboxing and Judo for individuals of all ages, where they can learn new skills, gain confidence and challenge themselves to excel.

Located at 919 E. Route 66 in Glendora, CA, the academy can be reached by phone at 626-335-4971. For more information, visit the website at sampabjj.com.
